Massachusett sees Increase in Business Confidence Index in May
Massachusetts has seen an improved view of the economy for the third consecutive month this year, with a rise in the business confidence index. The Associated Industries of Massachusetts reported that its business confidence index improved by 3.6 points from 35.4 in April to 39 in May. While many businesses were undergoing staff cuts for months, most are now confident enough to hire for select positions. The Business Confidence Index is an indicator of what businesses are doing and experiencing and the 3.6 point improvement represents an increase in how South Shore MA businesses are doing this year.
