In a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 23, at Braintree Town Hall in MA, the final version of a plan to spruce up the Weymouth Landing commercial district will be presented. The Metropolitan Area Planning Council has been at work conducting a study of the district for the past few months and will be offering strategies to revitalize the area in the meeting this month. Highlights of the plan will include making better use of the existing parking, strengthening the business mix, encouraging development, connecting the area with the nearby riverfront, and making the region more accessible for pedestrian safety. Proposed zoning changes will been to be submitted to Weymouth and Braintree MA town councils which will include mixed-use buildings, revised parking requirements, and requiring developments along the waterfront to allow for public areas.
