Rezoning for Residential Property by the Granite Plaza, Future development in mind
The recent decision was unanimous to endorse the proposal to rezone a house surrounded by the Granite Plaza shopping center. The planning board in Braintree MA has approved this rezoning in order to allow future development. This ‘island’ of residential property that was surrounded by the shopping center will make a difference in revitalizing the mall, with a possible prospective tenant that wants to serve the local needs. There is, however, some opposition from businesses that feel there is traffic congestion at the shopping center already.
The final decision will go to the town council next, and any redevelopment plans for the shopping center would still need planning board approval.
